How much alcohol is considered excessive?

The systematic consumption of alcohol beyond the limits of responsible consumption (or the systematic consumption of alcohol that leads to drunkenness), is considered excessive and may lead to short-term and long-term harm.

According to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), adult men and women should not drink over a certain amount of alcohol a day, although this does not mean that someone  can «save strengths» for a
big night out.

The consumption of a large amount of alcohol in only one occasion may be harmful, because the human body cannot process large amounts of alcohol at once.
